First Lady Melania Trump still led the festivity by reading “The Little Rabbit” online, followed by a message of encouragement directed to children.

Part of White House’s tradition has been the annual celebration of the Easter Egg Roll, typically led by the current First Lady. However, the ongoing public health crisis has forced Mrs. Trump to cancel the event this year. She then devised other ways to address the children of America while observing social distancing protocols.
On Easter Sunday, the White House uploaded a video of Mrs. Trump reading “The Little Rabbit” by Nicola Killen. The First Lady appeared in an all-green ensemble as the pages of the Easter story flash on the screen while she reads in the background.
The following day, Mrs. Trump once again addressed the children with her own message and suggested ways how they can spend their days while staying at home. “In this difficult time, while we are far away from our friends, classmates, and extended family members, we should all continue to make the very best of our days,” the First Lady said in a 43-second video. “I encourage you to read books, continue to learn, help with chores, and share some laughter with your family.”
With social distancing guidelines in place across the United States, schools have suspended classes indefinitely to help slow down the spread of coronavirus. As a result, many parents are faced with the task of homeschooling their children.
Melania Trump issues reminders on wearing face coverings in public
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated its public safety recommendations a few weeks ago. It started to encourage people to wear cloth face coverings in public. President Donald Trump noted the experts’ suggestion in an earlier press briefing but added, “I don’t think I’m going to be doing it.”
Mrs. Trump has a different approach, though. Since then, she has released several online posts, including a photo where she wears a face mask and a video of her telling people to “wear cloth face coverings in public settings where social distancing measures can be difficult to maintain.” The CDC has recorded 554,849 total cases of COVID-19 and 21,942 related deaths in the U.S. as of Monday.
